Biography

Peggy Lin is a longtime resident of the Bay Area in Northern California. She is a creative landscape designer, avid plant collector, artistic floral designer and experienced gardener.

Peggy Lin’s passion for flowers and plants developed in childhood. As a child visiting art galleries and botanical gardens was her greatest joy. Her dream was to design natural havens that would bring this feeling of joy into other people’s lives.

To pursue her dream, Peggy acquired a Bachelor of Science degree in Horticulture, and then earned a Master’s degree in Ornamental Horticulture from Oregon State University.

Peggy Lin traveled and studied public and private gardens in England, France, Italy, Spain, Greece, China, Japan, Thailand and the Philippines.

Her solid training in horticulture and her deep appreciation of art enable her to use color, texture, form and space in the garden effectively.

Over the past two decades, Peggy Lin’s love for plants and landscape design has led her to create stunning botanical art for her clients’ homes and gardens.

Peggy Lin is an internationally certified Landscape Designer through the Association of Professional Landscape Designers (APLD). She has served as one of the judges for the Flower and Garden Show both in San Francisco (2002) and Portland (2005, 2006). She is also a member of California Landscape Contractors Association and the Western Horticultural Society.

Garden Design Philosophy

“A garden isn’t meant to be useful. It is for joy.”
– Rumer Godden

I design gardens that bring seasonal beauties to you. It is my desire that the garden reflects your taste and fulfills your needs. Using garden features like meandering pathways, benches, waterfalls, gazebos, trellises and lush flowering plants, I create timeless gardens that are capable of surprise, feed your soul and brighten your days.

Whether you want your garden to be a sanctuary from the stress of modern living, an entertainment space, or a place for energetic sports, I can help you to realize your dreams.

Together we will create an environment with movement, vitality and energy that will bring you enjoyment for years to come.

On Working with Clients

I like to get to know my clients because understanding their goals and taste is essential to the design process.

I emphasize good communication because working as a team is the key to a successful outcome.

I provide excellent service because client satisfaction is important to me personally.

I believe the partnership with my clients begins with the interplay of ideas at our very first meeting. It extends past the completion of the plan, through the installation phase and beyond.
